Area Transit Digital Design Lead (BIM)

What you will do

• Lead transit and rail digital design, digital delivery, BIM, and 3D modeling initiatives across the area.
• Serve as BIM/Model Manager for transit and rail projects, coordinating discipline BIM leads, project managers, design leads, and clients.
• Develop digital delivery plans and guide project lifecycle activities including risk assessment, scope, fee development, scheduling, and execution.
• Facilitate 3D model quality control reviews and oversee project model reviews, quality, risk, and compliance management.
• Establish digital delivery protocols with client BIM, CAD, and digital delivery teams.
• Support business development, standardized workflows, staff training, and best-practice development.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, engineering technology, or a related field.
• At least 10 years of transit design project experience.
• At least 5 years of experience as a BIM/Model Manager on major multidisciplinary transportation projects.
• Advanced 3D modeling and Digital Design & Delivery/BIM experience with Bentley OpenRail and OpenRoads.
• Proficiency with BIM coordination tools including Navisworks, BIM360, Bentley Infrastructure Cloud/iTwins, Synchro, and Assemble.
• Experience managing CAD standards and workspaces in Common Data Environments such as ProjectWise and Autodesk Construction Cloud, with familiarity with ISO 19650.

Nice to have

• Professional certification in Bentley OpenRoads Designer.
• Experience integrating GIS into BIM workflows and publishing 3D models to GIS.
• Understanding of reality capture methods and integration of existing-conditions data into design workflows.
• Experience reviewing design criteria using 3D models.
