Senior Software Engineer, Growth - Quick Commerce (Java)

Location: Berlin, Germany; hybrid work with attendance at the Berlin campus 2 days per week.

What you will do

• Build the next-generation platform for food, grocery, pharmaceutical, flower, and other non-food deliveries.
• Design and optimize internal back-office applications, including the master product database and catalog management systems.
• Develop and improve campaign management and ad-serving or ad-booking systems.
• Build reliable, scalable systems with high concurrency in a distributed-services environment.
• Contribute to product categorization across the global catalog and improve browsing and product discovery.

Requirements

• Expertise in Java or Kotlin for distributed systems and services.
• 4+ years of experience with Spring Boot or similar Java frameworks.
• Strong foundation in computer science, including data structures, algorithms, and software design.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, Drone, or Spinnaker.
• Experience writing high-quality code, automated tests, and following engineering best practices.
• Pragmatic and collaborative approach to software development.

Nice to have

• Experience with monitoring, alerting, logging, and distributed tracing tools such as Prometheus, Datadog, or ELK.
• Experience building and operating high-traffic microservice systems with Kubernetes.
• Knowledge of microservice communication practices, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, gRPC, and Kafka.
