Software Engineer (Database)

What you will do

• Design and build Dynamic Tables capabilities with engineers and Product Managers.
• Implement, support, and evolve new features and performance improvements.
• Break down ambiguous problems, evaluate trade-offs, and make technical and product decisions.
• Analyze and solve performance, correctness, and fault-tolerance challenges at scale.
• Investigate unfamiliar areas of a large system and resolve root causes.
• Ensure operational readiness, reliability, availability, and performance for customer-facing systems.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of industry or equivalent research experience designing and building database internals or data-intensive systems.
• Strong computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Experience taking problems from an open question to software running in production.
• Proficiency with AI-native software engineering and agentic development workflows.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• Strong English communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with query compilers, query optimizers, or database internals.
• Experience building enterprise-grade, reliable, and trustworthy software or services.
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems, transactions, and consistency models.
• Contributions to open-source data infrastructure or database systems.
