TL;DR
Medical Technologist (Clinical Chemistry): Performing routine and complex testing of body fluids using automated analyzers and manual procedures with an accent on clinical chemistry, hematology, quality control, and accurate laboratory reporting. Focus on troubleshooting instruments, conducting linearity and correlation studies, training personnel, and supporting special laboratory projects.

Location: Boston, Massachusetts; 100% onsite. Required hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with rotating weekends, plus occasional coverage beginning at 6:30 a.m.

Salary: $87,672.00–$105,549.60 per year

What you will do

  • Perform routine and complex technical procedures on body fluids using automated analyzers and manual testing methods.
  • Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and document corrective actions for laboratory instruments.
  • Enter, verify, and report accurate test results through the clinical laboratory information system.
  • Maintain quality control, calibration, proficiency testing, instrumentation, and laboratory records.
  • Conduct linearity and correlation studies and assist with evaluating new instruments and materials.
  • Train new personnel, support departmental projects, process bone marrow smears, and act as lead technologist when needed.

Requirements

  • Five years of clinical laboratory experience in chemistry and/or hematology.
  • AS or BS degree in clinical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science, with MLT (ASCP), MT (ASCP), or a nationally recognized equivalent preferred.
  • ASCP or equivalent AMT/NCA certification preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of laboratory and medical terminology, with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication, organization, judgment, mentoring, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Ability to work 100% onsite in Boston, including rotating weekends and occasional early-morning coverage.
