TL;DR
Specialist, Customs & Global Trade (U.S. Import Compliance): Supporting end-to-end U.S. import compliance and global trade operations across pre-clearance, clearance, and post-clearance activities with an accent on CBP and PGA compliance, customs clearance, and duty savings. Focus on maintaining FTZ and CTPAT programs, auditing internal controls, resolving port issues, and improving import accuracy and efficiency.

Location: Hybrid role based out of the WowTown headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States

hirify.global is a retail company operating a large network of stores and importing products into the United States.

What you will do

  • Support end-to-end U.S. import compliance across pre-clearance, clearance, and post-clearance activities.
  • Develop and maintain import compliance processes, SOPs, reference materials, and training tools.
  • Coordinate with vendors, factories, customs brokers, freight forwarders, logistics teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure products are import-ready.
  • Oversee customs clearance activities, broker operations, documentation, filings, and resolution of port inspections and examinations.
  • Maintain compliance with Foreign Trade Zone and CTPAT programs.
  • Enhance internal audits, corrective actions, duty recovery, reconciliation, and other cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in global trade compliance or an import-related field.
  • Strong knowledge of CBP regulations, PGA requirements, valuation, tariff classification, country of origin, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule rules.
  • Experience with FTZ and CTPAT programs, PGAs, sets and kits, and applying General Rules of Interpretation.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience and training.
  • Strong communication, customer service, organizational, time-management, independent-working, and adaptability skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access.

Nice to have

  • Retail industry or comparable product-importing experience.
  • Certified Customs Specialist or Licensed Customs Broker credentials.
  • Experience with Global Trade Management software.
