Import Specialist – Customs Brokerage (Afternoon Shift)

Location: Romulus, Michigan, United States; full-time onsite afternoon shift

What you will do

• Manage import shipments from arrival through customs clearance.
• Prepare and submit customs entries in line with regulatory requirements.
• Review import documentation for accuracy, completeness, and compliance.
• Coordinate with customers, internal teams, and government agencies to resolve clearance issues.
• Monitor shipment status and maintain visibility through tracking and reporting systems.
• Identify opportunities to improve customs processes and operational efficiency.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in customs brokerage, freight forwarding, or international logistics.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs regulations, including classification, valuation, and country-of-origin requirements.
• Experience processing import documentation for air, ocean, and/or ground shipments.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage discrepancies, multiple shipments, and competing priorities.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills with customers, internal teams, and government agencies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word, and operational systems.
