Cat Tools & Infrastructure Associate (Natural Catastrophe Modelling): Building and maintaining NatCat applications, exposure reporting tools, and modelling platform functionality with an accent on analytical technologies, model validation, and scalable data-driven solutions. Focus on deploying catastrophe models, supporting Oasis infrastructure, developing reporting capabilities, and coordinating releases with model developers, underwriters, and software engineers.
Location: Bangalore, India; hybrid work model with an expectation to be in the office at least three days per week

What you will do
- Conceptualise and build NatCat applications using analytical technologies from concept through production.
- Collaborate with model developers, underwriters, product owners, geospatial specialists, and software engineers on business-ready solutions.
- Support model validation, deployment, release testing, and documentation for the global NatCat platform.
- Build and maintain exposure reporting tools using internal models and external risk model providers.
- Install, maintain, and extend the Oasis open-source modelling platform, coordinating platform setup with third-party vendors.
- Provide user support and contribute to data science, data mining, innovation, and product development initiatives.
Requirements
- At least five years of experience in catastrophe modelling, with hands-on experience using Oasis, RMS, Verisk/AIR, or CoreLogic.
- Strong Python and SQL programming skills for analytical and data-driven solutions.
- Experience solving complex analytical problems and translating them into scalable, production-ready solutions.
- Experience developing exposure reporting, business intelligence, or data analysis solutions, ideally with Power BI or Palantir Foundry.
- Graduate or postgraduate degree in mathematics, engineering, computer science, or an equivalent quantitative discipline.
- Ability to work collaboratively across globally distributed teams and willingness to develop insurance and reinsurance knowledge.
Nice to have
- Experience contributing to the Oasis open-source modelling platform.
- Familiarity with Azure Databricks for scalable data processing and analytics.
- Knowledge of MATLAB or R for quantitative analysis.
- Experience working in an agile development environment such as Scrum.
