TL;DR
Assistant Vice President - Senior Data Engineer (Azure): Building scalable data pipelines, data products, and operational platforms for Oaktree’s credit business with an accent on data quality, governance, observability, and cloud architecture. Focus on designing batch and real-time processing, diagnosing pipeline issues, implementing CI/CD and testing, and applying generative AI to improve engineering efficiency.
Location: Hyderabad, India. Shift timings: 1 PM–10 PM or 2 PM–11 PM.

What you will do
- Design and build scalable ETL/ELT pipelines for fast ingestion, transformation, analytics, APIs, and batch or real-time processing.
- Develop data products and platform capabilities including integrations, orchestration, governance, analytics, Index Hub, master data management, and performance dashboards.
- Define data quality rules, validation frameworks, monitoring processes, and operational metrics across critical data assets.
- Monitor production jobs and data flows, diagnose performance and data issues, perform root cause analysis, and coordinate corrective actions.
- Implement CI/CD, DBT testing, data observability, release management, runbooks, and data security practices.
- Collaborate with engineering, technology, governance, data owners, stewards, business stakeholders, and global colleagues.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience in data operations, data quality, job monitoring, and system performance.
- Expertise in data pipeline architecture, data validation, data governance, and scalable operational practices.
- Experience with SQL, Python, and .NET.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms, preferably Azure services including Azure Data Warehouse, ADLS, Azure DevOps, Azure Monitor, and Azure Purview.
- Knowledge of asset management and financial data concepts, with experience in exacting, data-intensive environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related field.

- Experience with DBT triggers and data visualization tools such as Power BI.
