Assistant Vice President - Risk & Reporting (Power BI)

What you will do

• Design and maintain cloud-ready data pipelines, dimensional models, and ELT/ETL workflows for investment, portfolio, cash activity, exposure, attribution, and reporting-control data.
• Build Power BI dashboards, semantic models, paginated reports, DAX measures, Power Query transformations, security controls, and deployment assets.
• Implement automated ingestion from internal systems, data warehouses, vendor files, Salesforce, servicers, administrators, and governed reporting datasets.
• Troubleshoot refresh, gateway, OneLake, transformation, data-quality, and production publishing issues.
• Apply Git, CI/CD, logging, documentation, testing, release management, and data-quality SLAs to make reporting auditable and repeatable.
• Partner with investment, Technology, Finance, Tax, administrators, Investor Relations, and enterprise solution teams while reviewing work and mentoring junior colleagues.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development, reporting automation, or analytics engineering.
• Required exposure to alternative investments; experience in credit, structured finance, private credit, or related investment domains is preferred.
• Strong hands-on proficiency with SQL, Python, Power BI, DAX, Power Query/M, semantic models, paginated reports, and production reporting validation.
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric pipelines, dataflows, Lakehouse and data warehouse solutions, and PySpark notebooks in Fabric, Databricks, or Synapse Spark.
• Working knowledge of Azure and/or AWS data platforms, including Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, Data Lake Storage, Azure DevOps, S3, Glue, Lambda, Redshift, Snowflake, or Aurora.
• Understanding of data governance, reporting controls, performance concepts including TWR, MWR, IRR, MOIC, TVPI, DPI, and RVPI, plus strong documentation and stakeholder communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with schema design, CDC, orchestration, IAM, secure data access, Git, CI/CD, testing, and release controls.
• Familiarity with Geneva, IPS, Salesforce, Workday, AXON, eFront-style platforms, Jira, and Confluence.
• Experience with collateral performance, credit metrics, exposure analysis, portfolio construction, fund-level reporting, or client reporting.
• AWS Data Analytics, Power BI Data Analyst, Azure/Fabric, CFA, FRM, CAIA, or CIPM credentials.
