Senior Data Engineer – People Analytics

Location: Bern, Switzerland, with the option to work from a hirify.global office in Switzerland or from a home office.

What you will do

• Build and operate scalable HR data pipelines, integrations, data models, and reusable data products.
• Develop distributed data-processing and transformation workloads using Python, PySpark, SQL, AWS Glue, and dbt.
• Implement automated data-quality controls, monitoring, documentation, security, troubleshooting, and recovery practices.
• Translate business and analytical requirements into technical solutions and trusted datasets.
• Embed metadata, lineage, access controls, and lifecycle rules into data products.
• Establish engineering standards and reusable patterns while mentoring less experienced colleagues.

Requirements

• Several years of experience delivering and operating production data solutions.
• Strong cloud data-engineering experience across ingestion, transformation, orchestration, deployment, monitoring, and troubleshooting, preferably with AWS.
• Strong Python and SQL skills and practical experience with distributed data processing using PySpark.
• Knowledge of data modelling, data quality, security, documentation, and maintainable engineering practices.
• Experience with data governance or sensitive and regulated data is beneficial; People Analytics, HR Technology, Workday, or SAP experience is also beneficial.
• Fluent English is required; other Swiss national languages are an advantage.
