Interim Access and Financial Engagement Senior Manager (Healthcare Operations): Leading patient access, financial counseling, registration, admissions, and revenue cycle workflows with an accent on compliance, reimbursement, patient flow, and operational performance. Focus on optimizing Epic-enabled processes, developing performance reporting, managing complex escalations, and coordinating cross-functional healthcare initiatives during an 18–24-month assignment.

Location: 100% remote, associated with Boston, Massachusetts, United States

Salary: $115,000–$134,500 per year

What you will do

  • Lead patient registration, insurance verification, financial counseling, payer approvals, and inpatient admissions processes.
  • Implement and optimize access and financial engagement workflows across revenue cycle, billing, reimbursement, and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with finance, clinical, operational, executive, and Epic teams on strategic initiatives and system improvements.
  • Monitor reimbursement, compliance, operational risks, performance trends, KPIs, productivity standards, and management reporting.
  • Lead quality improvement, staff development, customer service initiatives, and resolution of complex patient issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, management, healthcare, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • At least 5 years of workflow oversight experience in patient access, revenue cycle, authorization, denials, call center, or related functions.
  • Advanced knowledge of healthcare operations, payer requirements, authorization, reimbursement, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with Epic, healthcare information systems, Microsoft Excel, and Word.
  • Strong analytical, communication, facilitation, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Nice to have

  • Master’s degree.
  • Up to 10 years of healthcare experience.
  • Oncology experience.
