TL;DR
Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing): Maintaining and repairing production, facility, and auxiliary equipment in a bottling plant with an accent on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting. Focus on diagnosing complex equipment failures, maintaining industrial control systems, repairing conveyors and process machinery, and improving recurring production issues.

Location: Louisville–Jeffersonville, Indiana, United States; onsite plant work

What you will do

  • Troubleshoot and repair production equipment, including injection and blow molders, fillers, cappers, labelers, case packers, conveyors, palletizers, and stretch wrappers.
  • Maintain and repair facility and auxiliary equipment such as chillers, air compressors, reverse osmosis systems, water filtration equipment, and general plant systems.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems using schematics, technical drawings, and testing equipment.
  • Maintain industrial control systems and perform equipment modification, lubrication, operation, and preventative repairs.
  • Collaborate with operators, supervisors, preventative maintenance mechanics, senior maintenance technicians, and management to resolve complex and recurring issues.
  • Document repairs, work orders, parts and material usage, while following safety and PPE requirements.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in a maintenance environment, in the position, or managing people/projects; experience may combine work and education.
  • High school diploma required; an associate degree in manufacturing, mechatronics, automation, or a related field is preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and process instrumentation schematics.
  • Experience with shop equipment, power tools, precision measuring equipment, and basic Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Effective cross-functional communication, issue resolution, independent work, and willingness to provide technical leadership and training.
  • Own toolbox and basic tools required.

Nice to have

  • Six years of maintenance, position, or people/project management experience.
  • Experience in high-speed manufacturing, bottling, beverage, packaging, or plastics.
  • Experience with VFDs, servo drives and motors, PLC I/O cards, safety modules, communication systems, Krones, Sidel, or Husky equipment.
  • Knowledge of HVAC, chillers, air compressors, thermodynamics, heat transfer, plastics processing, 480VAC and 24VDC systems.
  • Fabrication and welding skills, including MIG, TIG, or stick welding.
