Staff Systems Engineer - Electrical

What you will do

• Lead engineering integration and core engineering teams in defining system interactions, architectures, and requirements.
• Capture customer needs and translate them into system-level requirements, specifications, block diagrams, and input/output definitions.
• Drive requirements flow-down, validation and verification, and component, subsystem, and full-system testing.
• Coordinate technical reviews and work across engineering functions to deliver products compliant with applicable regulatory standards.
• Define system test strategies, create test specifications, and perform hands-on product integration activities.
• Train, coach, and mentor less experienced engineers while supporting multiple development projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• 10+ years of related experience.
• Experience with electrical power schemes, particularly medium-voltage applications and utility-connected sites from 1 kV to 15 kV.
• Experience with medium-voltage power generation sites, including data centers, healthcare facilities, and large manufacturing operations, from 500 kW to 5 MW.
• Knowledge of generator paralleling, synchronizing, generator controls, and tuning.
• Experience with systems engineering or requirements management in a product development environment, such as the V-model.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in a STEM or engineering discipline.
• Experience creating system architecture documents, schematic diagrams, and interconnect diagrams.
• Experience working in a matrixed organization and influencing cross-functional teams.
• Strong communication, coaching, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
