Financial Accountant - Payments (12 Month FTC) (Payments/Finance): Managing financial operations and regulatory reporting for an FCA-regulated UK payment institution with an accent on safeguarding, reconciliations, management accounts, liquidity, and capital adequacy. Focus on preparing FCA reports, overseeing audits and balance sheet controls, managing FX and liquidity, and delivering forecasts and board reporting.
Location: Can be based in the UK or Ireland, with remote or hybrid flexibility; role bases include Oxford, London, and Dublin.

What you will do
- Manage daily safeguarding operations and reconciliations across UK and EU operations.
- Maintain processes that comply with UK payment services regulations, including CASS 15 and capital adequacy obligations.
- Prepare and submit FCA regulatory reports and manage safeguarding and capital adequacy audits.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, approve balance sheet reconciliations, and support liquidity and FX management with Treasury.
- Prepare quarterly Board reporting, annual financial statements, budgets, and forecasts.
- Analyze payments performance, including payment cost metrics, and maintain relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of professional finance experience.
- Degree-level education or equivalent.
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Strong financial control, management reporting, analytical, and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, quality, and decision-making in daily work.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment and collaborate with finance, payments, product, engineering, and operations teams.

- Experience in regulated financial services, fintech, or payments.
- Understanding of safeguarding obligations and capital requirements.
