Interim Senior Operational Finance Manager

Location: Edinburgh, United Kingdom; hybrid model with a minimum of 60% office attendance over a 12-week period

Salary: £75,000–£80,000 per year, plus bonus

What you will do

• Lead and develop the operational finance teams covering Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Finance Systems, and Cashbook.
• Manage AP and AR operations, including invoices, payments, collections, reconciliations, credit control, and governance.
• Improve working capital performance through KPI monitoring, aged-debt management, debtor-days analysis, and reporting.
• Oversee bank and cash reconciliations across entities and currencies, including payment authorisation and segregation of duties.
• Own core finance systems, contribute to month-end close and audits, and deliver automation and process improvements.
• Build relationships across Finance, Technology, and the wider business while managing internal service-level agreements.

Requirements

• Substantial experience managing operational finance functions across AP, AR, and finance systems.
• Experience leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
• Strong expertise in AP/AR processes, credit control, working capital management, financial controls, and data governance.
• Experience with an ERP environment, ideally Microsoft Dynamics 365 or a comparable platform.
• Demonstrated success delivering automation, efficiency, and scalability improvements.
• Availability at short notice and willingness to work in an interim capacity for a six-month fixed-term engagement.
