Staff AI Scientist (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Base pay: $209,500–$283,500 per year; the package may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Define success criteria with stakeholders and align model metrics with business goals.
• Lead scrum teams, design model solutions, and drive end-to-end architecture.
• Perform data analysis, ETL, and feature engineering on large datasets.
• Apply data mining, NLP, machine learning, classification, regression, deep learning, and recommender systems to customer-facing problems.
• Design and run A/B tests, communicate impact to leadership, and evaluate new ML techniques.
• Mentor AI Scientists and provide technical direction.

Requirements

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field.
• 4+ years of industry experience in AI Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.
• Strong experience with combinatorial, gradient-based, and Bayesian optimization, NLP, and Explainable AI.
• Proficiency in Python, Scala, Java, and/or R.
• Strong SQL, Hive, SparkSQL skills and comfort working in Linux environments.
• Experience building reusable, scalable, end-to-end ML pipelines, with strong communication and technical leadership skills.
