Senior AI/ML Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Lone Tree, Colorado, United States; hybrid office environment with occasional travel of 10–20% to customer sites, test facilities, or conferences.

Estimated starting salary: $143,487.14–$197,294.82 per year, plus performance-based annual incentive pay.

What you will do

• Lead exploration, hypothesis-driven experimentation, and rapid prototyping of AI/ML concepts.
• Develop RAG architectures with embedding pipelines, retrieval strategies, transformer-based generation, and multimodal document understanding.
• Design MPC-aligned models and real-time decisioning pipelines involving predictive modeling, optimization, reinforcement learning, signal processing, perception, and planning.
• Architect, train, deploy, and optimize advanced models, including transformers, GANs, neural networks, and RL agents.
• Build validation and testing frameworks for safety, reliability, explainability, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements.
• Provide technical leadership, mentor engineers, and support cross-functional integration teams with prototypes and documentation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics, applied statistics, engineering, or a related STEM field, plus 10+ years of related experience; equivalent experience may substitute.
• Advanced proficiency with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch and supervised, unsupervised, and reinforcement learning.
• Experience designing, deploying, and optimizing AI/ML systems and generative models, including transformers, GANs, ANNs, CNNs, and RNNs.
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, C#, or Java, with experience building scalable AI/ML systems.
• Experience with RAG or hybrid reasoning systems, embedding, retrieval, and indexing pipelines for large multi-source datasets.
• U.S. citizenship is required, along with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in AI, machine learning, or a related field.
• Experience with CUDA, TensorRT, GPU programming, high-performance computing, and edge AI.
• Background in autonomous systems, robotics, sensor fusion, or real-time systems.
• Experience with Agile/DevOps, complex ML pipelines, massive multi-source datasets, or autonomy software.
• Certifications in AI/ML or exposure to quantum computing for ML applications.
