HVAC Technician I

Location: Marlborough, Massachusetts, USA; daily travel to job sites and occasional travel required.

Salary: $29.88–$35.00 per hour, plus eligibility for variable compensation including short-term and long-term incentives.

What you will do

• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical components of commercial HVAC systems under 10 tons.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and respond to emergency service requests.
• Troubleshoot refrigeration systems, electronic control circuits, and system controls using monitoring tools.
• Read wiring schematics and independently resolve field problems at customer job sites.
• Document field conditions, service results, and technical commentary accurately and promptly.
• Follow safety policies and participate in a rotating on-call schedule covering nights, weekends, and 24/7 emergency calls.

Requirements

• High school diploma and completion of at least 200 hours of HVAC school.
• 20 hours of continuing education, 150 electrical code hours, and 4,000 work hours.
• Current driver's license with a driving record meeting company standards.
• Department of Transportation medical certificate and ability to pass a drug and alcohol screen, motor vehicle report review, and DOT physical.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems, basic refrigeration, electronic controls, wiring schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Ability to travel daily to job sites, work independently, communicate professionally, and use basic computer tools.
