Commercial HVAC Technician

Location: Field-based in Austin, TX and San Antonio, TX, US; technicians rarely report to the physical office and may respond to emergency, weekend, and after-hours service requests.

Salary: $70,000–$85,000 annual, based on experience.

Commercial HVAC manufacturer’s representative providing engineered heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and plumbing solutions across Texas.

What you will do

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC systems, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, cooling towers, and VRF systems.
• Diagnose electrical, refrigeration, and equipment issues and complete repairs efficiently.
• Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment performance, reliability, and service life.
• Read blueprints, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.
• Coordinate with building engineers, facility managers, contractors, customers, and other stakeholders.
• Document service reports, parts used, and completed work through the company ERP system while complying with HVAC codes and safety standards.

Requirements

• 2–5+ years of commercial HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair experience.
• EPA Universal Certification required; HVAC certification preferred.
• Knowledge of commercial heating and cooling, electrical systems, refrigeration, and diagnostic troubleshooting.
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces and extreme weather conditions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to work independently, use handheld technology for field documentation, and provide occasional emergency, weekend, and after-hours service.

Nice to have

• Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
