TL;DR
Staff Software Engineer (Java, Distributed Systems & SaaS Platforms) (Java/SaaS): Designing and delivering Java-based SaaS platforms, shared backend services, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven applications with an accent on scalability, reliability, observability, and security. Focus on owning production services end to end, leading cross-service technical initiatives, and solving complex distributed-systems challenges across cloud environments.

What you will do
- Design and deliver Java-based SaaS platform services, APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven applications.
- Own complex services and platform capabilities from initial design through production operation.
- Lead technical initiatives spanning multiple services, engineering teams, and product dependencies.
- Implement critical components, create prototypes, review code, and troubleshoot production issues.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Security, and Architecture teams to develop scalable technical solutions.
- Improve performance, availability, observability, security, and operational readiness while mentoring engineers.
Requirements
- 8+ years of software engineering experience building production SaaS applications, distributed systems, or enterprise software platforms.
- 5+ years of experience developing and operating production backend services with Java.
- Experience owning a production service or platform capability from design through ongoing operation.
- Experience designing distributed systems deployed on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Experience leading technical design reviews or engineering initiatives across multiple services or teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, Kafka, or similar Java technologies.
- Experience designing cloud-native, microservices-based, or event-driven systems.
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, SQL Server, or Oracle.
- Experience with platform modernization, cloud migration, service decomposition, reliability, observability, or performance initiatives.
- Experience integrating AI capabilities or using AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot or ChatGPT.
