Senior Software Engineer (Java)

Location: Must be physically located in and work from Mexico City (CDMX) or Mexico State (Estado de Mexico)

What you will do

• Design, develop, document, test, and deploy standardized integration, automation, and middleware solutions.
• Integrate hirify.global products, third-party SaaS applications, and data platforms across distributed systems.
• Build and maintain scalable REST APIs and event-driven microservices with asynchronous messaging.
• Develop unit, system integration, and user acceptance tests while maintaining coding standards and quality.
• Participate in Agile Scrum planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Explore AI and machine learning solutions for intelligent workflows and productivity improvements while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in backend or integration engineering, including scalable microservices, distributed systems, and cloud-based solutions.
• Advanced proficiency in Java.
• Experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, middleware, event-driven architectures, APIs, events, and messaging systems.
• Fluency with AWS serverless technologies such as Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge, API Gateway, SNS, SQS, SAM, or the equivalent in Azure or GCP.
• Experience integrating SaaS applications and collaborating with DevOps teams on deployment, monitoring, and scaling.
• Fluent English and experience with Agile Scrum, Jira, Confluence, testing, code reviews, and technical documentation.

Nice to have

• Experience with Node, Python, or Bash scripting.
• Leadership of small feature teams and peer mentoring.
• Experience with iPaaS, low-code platforms, CI/CD pipelines, observability tools, ETL/ELT, cloud databases, and data orchestration.
• Knowledge of security, compliance, privacy standards, AI/ML automation, NLP, or Model Context Protocol.
