Bridge Inspector/Engineer

Location: Field-based inspections with travel to sites throughout the United States; Florida PE required or obtainable through reciprocity within 6 months.

What you will do

• Complete initial, routine, in-depth, and fracture-critical inspections of fixed, movable, and signature bridges.
• Inspect tunnels, dams, hydraulic structures, and other miscellaneous structures for public agencies and private owners.
• Use under-bridge inspection equipment and other access techniques during structural field inspections.
• Lead or support inspection team planning, coordination, and field activities.
• Prepare inspection reports with findings and condition assessments.
• Complete structural load ratings and support business development with new and existing clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 7 years of structural inspection experience.
• Florida Professional Engineer license, or the ability to obtain it through reciprocity within 6 months.
• Leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Willingness to travel within the United States to inspection sites.

Nice to have

• FHWA-NHI certification as a Bridge Inspection Team Leader, including refresher and fracture-critical steel bridge training.
• FDOT Inspection Team Leader Certification.
• FHWA-NHI Tunnel Inspection Team Leader training.
• SPRAT certification.
• MEWP operator certification for scissor lifts, manlifts, UBIVs, bucket trucks, and bucket vans.
