Trade and Compliance Customs Specialist (Medtech)

What you will do

• Prepare, review, and maintain import and export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, licenses, and permits.
• Classify goods under applicable HS/HTS tariff schedules, determine country of origin, and maintain the product classification database.
• Validate customs valuation, Incoterms, duty and tax applicability, and support duty drawback and preferential trade programs.
• Monitor customs regulations, sanctions, embargoes, export controls, licensing requirements, and free trade agreements.
• Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, government authorities, and internal Supply Chain, Quality, Finance, Legal, and Commercial teams.
• Conduct compliance checks and audits, manage corrective actions, deliver customs training, and support process digitalization.

Requirements

• At least 3 years of experience in customs, trade compliance, or international logistics, preferably in a manufacturing, broker, or freight-forwarding environment.
• Experience with HS/HTS classification, origin determination, and customs documentation.
• Working knowledge of EU customs rules, UK and Ireland requirements, sanctions, and export controls.
• Proficiency with ERP/TMS systems, broker portals, and Excel, together with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail, regulatory interpretation, documentation accuracy, stakeholder communication, and vendor or broker management.
