Temp-to-Hire Shipping & Receiving Specialist II (Pharmaceuticals)

Location: Onsite; the posting references Ionis offices in Carlsbad, California, Boston, Massachusetts, and Dublin, Ireland.

Salary: $18.20–$23.45 per hour.

What you will do

• Manage shipping and receiving operations, procedures, and package control.
• Maintain inventory records for outgoing shipments and track packages through their full life cycle.
• Handle domestic and international shipments, including customs communication and delivery coordination.
• Package cold shipments using dry ice, manifests, and appropriate shipping procedures.
• Coordinate with multiple departments and end users to ensure accurate documentation and controlled delivery.
• Transport packages to FedEx for drop-off when necessary.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least two years of experience shipping and distributing pharmaceutical-related materials.
• Excellent customer service, oral and written communication, problem-solving, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, multitasking, prioritization, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to work productively in an intense environment with minimal supervision.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
