Adjunct Instructor - Criminal Justice

What you will do

• Plan, prepare, and deliver lectures, seminars, and laboratory offerings in criminal justice for undergraduate and graduate students.
• Develop course syllabi, select instructional materials, and design exams, quizzes, papers, and other assessments.
• Assess student performance, provide timely feedback, and evaluate learning outcomes.
• Engage students in active learning, critical discussion, collaboration, and hands-on learning.
• Provide office hours, academic support, feedback, and mentoring.
• Serve as a Campus Security Authority and follow university, academic integrity, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field from an accredited university.
• At least 18 graduate hours in the teaching discipline.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
• Ability to teach criminal justice subject matter at the undergraduate and graduate levels and collaborate professionally with students, staff, and faculty.
• Employment may be affected if immigration sponsorship is required; the university will not pay the $100,000 H-1B petition fee.

Nice to have

• Doctorate or terminal degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field.
• Previous collegiate online teaching experience.

• Temporary, part-time appointments are assigned per semester on an as-needed basis.
• Teaching assignments may include up to six semester credit hours during the 2025–2026 academic year.
• Instruction may be delivered in person, through approved instructional modalities, or online according to student demand.
