Adjunct Instructor - Criminal Justice

Location: Texarkana, Texas; instructors in the region are particularly sought for face-to-face sections. Courses may also be delivered in web-enhanced, hybrid, or online formats.

Compensation: $2,400 per undergraduate section with a master’s degree; $2,900 per undergraduate section with a PhD.

What you will do

• Teach Criminal Justice courses in face-to-face, web-enhanced, hybrid, or online formats.
• Cover topics such as law and courts, law enforcement, criminal investigations, community corrections, and management and leadership.
• Load course content, assessments, and lecture modules.
• Grade student work, meet with students, and submit grades on time.
• Meet census and grade deadlines and complete additional course administration as needed.
• Teach courses scheduled in 5-, 8-, 10-, or 16-week terms.

Requirements

• For undergraduate courses: a master’s or Juris Doctorate in Criminal Justice or a related field, including at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
• For graduate courses: a doctorate or terminal degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field, including at least 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
• Degrees and coursework must be from a regionally accredited institution.
• Submit a resume or CV, graduate transcripts, and at least two professional references.
• Employment is contingent on credential verification and completion of a criminal history investigation.

• Career or academic experience related to the course topic.
• Experience working in a justice-aligned agency or organization.
• Previous college teaching experience.
• Doctorate in Criminal Justice, Criminology, or a related field.
• Residence in the service region for face-to-face teaching.
