Area Manager - Service Shop (Transportation)

Location: Lagrange, Georgia, United States; onsite at the transportation service shop

Annual salary: $80,000–$120,000, plus performance-based bonuses and possible regional pay zone or stock compensation.

What you will do

• Lead daily operations in a fast-paced, 24/7 transportation service shop.
• Set goals, manage staffing and schedules, assign work, and coordinate workloads to meet performance targets.
• Lead preventative maintenance and repair programs for tractors, trailers, and shop equipment.
• Review operational and financial reports, monitor productivity, manage expenses, and identify inefficiencies.
• Train, coach, develop, and engage associates while supporting hiring and performance management.
• Reinforce safety, quality, compliance, communication, and continuous improvement standards.

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Business, Logistics, or a related field plus one year of supervisory experience; or a bachelor's degree in a related field.
• Alternatively, one year of Walmart Refurb/Service Shop or Walmart Logistics management experience.
• Alternatively, three years of service-shop technician experience.
• Alternatively, an industrial technical certification such as ASE, Air Conditioning, DOT Brake, or DOT Preventative Maintenance, plus one year of supervisory experience in heavy-duty truck and trailer maintenance.
• Leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills.
• Working knowledge of service-shop operations, maintenance processes, safety standards, staffing, workloads, and productivity management.

Nice to have

• General maintenance experience.
• Microsoft Office skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics.
• ASE or DOT transportation certification.
