Salary: $110,700–$196,350 annually

What you will do
- Lead day-to-day U.S. export compliance operations under the Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
- Review export documentation, classify products using ECCNs, manage licensing, and oversee Technology Control Plans.
- Manage South Korean National Core Technology approvals, declarations, and Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy filings.
- Audit intellectual property, R&D, manufacturing processes, personnel access, and technology classifications.
- Implement physical and digital protected zones and maintain specialized confidentiality agreements.
- Advise on cross-border transactions, M&A, joint ventures, overseas manufacturing, and technology-transfer risks.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law, international business, compliance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of direct experience in export compliance and legal frameworks.
- Demonstrable expertise in the EAR, including ECCN classification, deemed exports, and licensing procedures.
- Ability to read complex technical specifications and classify technologies without formal engineering training.
- Strong compliance risk assessment, audit, and red-flag review skills.
Nice to have
- Expertise in South Korea’s Industrial Technology Act and experience working directly with MOTIE.
- Fluency in Korean and English, including the ability to interpret technical government updates in Korean.
