Sr. Principal Engineer - Digital Solutions

Location: Oakdale, Minnesota, United States; minimum 3 days per week onsite. Domestic travel of up to 10% may be required.

Salary: $128,000–$160,000 annually, with potential eligibility for discretionary bonuses.

What you will do

• Serve as the onsite digital solutions partner for laboratory teams, triaging workflow and tool issues and coordinating resolution with business process owners and IT service teams.
• Design, build, and enhance laboratory tools, dashboards, and workflow solutions using Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Map current and future-state laboratory workflows, facilitate working sessions, and produce requirements packages with acceptance criteria.
• Manage initiative scope, milestones, dependencies, risks, and status reporting to support predictable delivery.
• Identify and implement scanning, labeling, barcode, and automation approaches for data capture, inventory tracking, and asset visibility.
• Coordinate user acceptance testing, documentation, user guidance, training, adoption, and compliance with IT governance, validation, and lifecycle processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, biology, biochemistry, engineering, or another STEM field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of experience supporting wet chemistry or similar laboratory environments through workflow enablement, digital solutions, systems integration, or process improvement.
• Expertise with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, SharePoint, and Excel.
• Experience with laboratory software such as LIMS, OpenLab, Empower, MassHunter, and ELN.
• Experience working with global cross-functional teams, laboratory workflows, instrumentation, scheduling or resource planning tools, and data analysis.
• Strong communication, independent execution, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple initiatives in matrixed environments.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulated product development environments and 21 CFR Part 11 requirements.
• Analytical chemistry laboratory and instrumentation workflow experience.
• Experience in medical products or pharmaceutical environments.
