Substation Field Engineer (Entry, Staff, Senior or Principal)

What you will do

• Lead engineering projects involving research, design, equipment selection, procurement, installation, and commissioning.
• Provide field engineering oversight for operations, maintenance, testing, diagnostics, inspections, installation, and regulatory activities.
• Develop and improve technical standards, procedures, designs, calculations, reports, and other engineering documentation.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for bids, proposal evaluations, contracts, projects, customers, and vendors.
• Coordinate engineers, technicians, craft personnel, and support staff while mentoring less experienced engineers.
• Support budgeting, estimating, forecasting, accounting, and work order management for engineering projects.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program; mechanical engineering is preferred for entry and staff levels.
• Relevant experience requirements range from 0+ years for Entry to 9+ years with PE registration for Principal level.
• EIT/FE is preferred at Entry and strongly preferred at Staff level; required for Senior level with 5+ years of experience.
• PE registration may be required for Senior level and is required for Principal level with 9+ years of experience.
• Ability to apply engineering standards, principles, theories, concepts, and techniques to projects of moderate to large size and complexity.
