Technical Field Trainer – Stations/Field Engineering

Location: Berlin, CT, United States. Travel between MA, CT, and NH is required as necessary, with availability for emergency restoration assignments outside normal responsibilities, hours, and location.

Annual salary: $133,290–$148,100, with potential incentive eligibility.

What you will do

• Develop and deliver classroom, hands-on, and on-the-job technical training for substation operations and field engineering employees.
• Analyze field tasks and performance with personnel and supervisors to identify training needs and define program content.
• Supervise, instruct, and evaluate trainees during training assignments and follow up through field visits, observations, and refresher training.
• Implement training and field quality audit programs, including employee assessment and certification.
• Evaluate new tools, materials, and equipment and provide operational input on their selection and use.
• Maintain and revise training programs, standards, procedures, and construction requirements with vendors, engineers, and technical experts.

Requirements

• Knowledge of electricity transmission and distribution substations, including design, operations, maintenance, construction, work practices, safety standards, and business processes.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
• At least 8 years of experience in utility transmission, distribution, substations, field engineering, testing, maintenance, construction, or related operations.
• Strong communication, presentation, leadership, coaching, and schedule management skills.
• Ability to use desktop applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel and working knowledge of labor contracts.
