Senior Project Engineer (Mission Critical)

Location: Chicago, United States. Employment verification to work in the U.S. is required.

Salary: $85,000–$100,000 per year, with potential additional commission and/or incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Support the Project Manager with project administration from pre-construction through closeout.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and project status reports.
• Track job costs, labor productivity, budgets, bids, subcontractor buyout, negotiations, and change orders.
• Coordinate subcontractors, architects, and engineers to resolve day-to-day technical issues.
• Assist with project scheduling, jobsite coordination meetings, safety, quality control, and milestone delivery.
• Lead punch list management and compile final closeout documentation, including as-built drawings and O&M manuals.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience as a Project Engineer in commercial construction.
• Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and project management fundamentals.
• Proficiency with construction management software such as Procore and Building Connected.
• Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills.
• Proactive, detail-oriented, solution-focused approach and ambition to grow into a Project Manager role.

Nice to have

• Experience in the mission-critical sector, such as data centers, healthcare, or advanced manufacturing.
• Experience with scheduling software such as P6.
