TL;DR
IT Strategy and Governance Manager (Enterprise IT Governance): Shaping technology direction, governance frameworks, risk controls, and technology roadmaps across a complex regulated organisation with an accent on strategic alignment, compliance, and value-driven IT investment. Focus on defining target-state capabilities, coordinating demand prioritization, managing IT financial transparency, and establishing KPIs for the Demand-Deliver-Service operating model.
Location: Adelaide, Australia. Full-time office attendance is required during probation; hybrid work and a 9-day fortnight may be discussed after successful completion.

What you will do
- Drive enterprise IT strategy and governance across the organisation.
- Lead IT policy lifecycle management, including drafting, review, approval, communication, and enforcement.
- Coordinate IT risk assessments and escalate material risks with recommended mitigations.
- Develop aligned strategies for innovation, data, infrastructure and cloud, applications, and AI.
- Facilitate IT demand intake and prioritisation based on strategic value, risk, and capacity.
- Establish IT KPIs, SLAs, and balanced scorecards while coaching employees and developing future talent.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in IT management, strategy, or consulting, with enterprise-wide governance experience in complex, regulated, hybrid environments.
- Expertise in COBIT and ITIL frameworks, governance, GRC, and regulated-industry requirements.
- Experience with IT financial management, TBM/FinOps, CAPEX/OPEX alignment, and cost transparency.
- Ability to define target-state capabilities and roadmaps and influence business and IT delivery stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, or a related field.
- Must be an Australian citizen and hold or be able to obtain Australian Defence Security Clearance at NV1/NV2 level.
Nice to have
- MBA or postgraduate qualification.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, SAFe, ITIL, or COBIT Foundation certifications.
- Existing Australian Defence Security Clearance.
