Toolmaker Bench (Automotive Manufacturing)

Location: Detroit, MI, US; onsite. Applicants must be able to work in or relocate to Detroit. Relocation assistance is not available.

Salary: $38.04 per hour, plus shift premium for second- and third-shift work.

What you will do

• Build and repair tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and gauges.
• Maintain and repair hoppers, escapements, bowls, tracking systems, indexes, arbors, hone pots, clamps, collets, pallets, bearings, poppets, and centerline-position equipment.
• Maintain and repair parts loaders and unloaders, gantries, linear bearings, generating heads, fixtures, probe plates, grippers, transfer fingers, and alignment components.
• Install, repair, remove, and align bushing plates, fixture plates, probe plates, spacers, shims, locating pins, rest pads, guide rails, and rollers.
• Perform HDE connecting-rod operation changeovers and common lifting and transport of trade-specific materials.
• Work effectively with production teams, engineering, service technicians, and management.

Requirements

• GED or high school diploma.
• Certified journeyperson card or documentation of eight years of relevant experience.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States is required at the time of application.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, and existing visa holders are not eligible.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check and, if required, a pre-employment drug screen.
