Clinical Social Worker, LICSW (Longwood) (Oncology)

Location: Boston, Massachusetts, United States; hybrid schedule with 2–3 days onsite per week

What you will do

• Provide biopsychosocial assessments, crisis intervention, psychosocial care coordination, and consultation for oncology patients, families, and caregivers.
• Deliver evidence-based, short-term individual, couples, family, and group interventions across the cancer care continuum.
• Identify high-risk psychosocial factors, including suicide risk, domestic violence, abuse, neglect, disability, substance use, and serious mental health conditions.
• Facilitate serious illness and goals-of-care conversations, supporting shared treatment decisions and effective patient-physician communication.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and community partners to address barriers to medical care and develop support programs.
• Provide in-person and telehealth services and clinical coverage for other social workers when needed.

Requirements

• Master of Social Work degree.
• At least 4 years of social work practice experience; healthcare experience is preferred.
• At least 2 years of experience in oncology or working with oncology patients, with other social work experience potentially substituting.
• LICSW license in Massachusetts, with state-specific licensure requirements based on work location.
• Advanced knowledge of clinical psychosocial care, behavioral health interventions, interdisciplinary teamwork, ethical practice, and clinical documentation.
• Ability to advocate for diverse populations and communicate effectively with patients, families, caregivers, clinical teams, and community partners.
