Assembly Maintenance Engineer - 2nd Shift

Location: Detroit, Michigan, United States; onsite, 2nd shift from 3:00pm to 11:00pm. The position is open to applicants who can work in or relocate to Detroit, but relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $81,000–$104,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Provide maintenance engineering support for engine assembly, axle assembly, and related transmission and axle areas.
• Review station-level drawings and bills of materials, and develop recommended spare-parts lists.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance procedures for existing and future equipment.
• Troubleshoot tooling and equipment breakdowns and support daily production needs.
• Develop and implement tooling, assembly process methods, and equipment certification for product changes.
• Work with purchasing and vendors to procure equipment, coach assemblers and supervisors, and participate in weekend production coverage rotations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology.
• Effective oral and written communication, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with PC hardware and commercially available software.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States at the time of application.
• Visa sponsorship is not available, and existing visa holders are not eligible.

Nice to have

• At least three years of manufacturing experience in an assembly environment.
• At least one year of project management or supervisory experience.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD LT.
• Experience with pressing operations, including Kistler and Promess hardware.
• Experience programming and troubleshooting torque tooling.
