Senior Counsel (Fully Remote Corpus Christi, Texas)

Location: Fully remote, but based in the Corpus Christi area, Texas

Salary: $132,800–$219,100 annual base salary, plus eligibility for performance-based cash incentive awards.

What you will do

• Independently handle higher-exposure cases and complex insurance defense litigation from inception through trial and appeal.
• Try cases to verdict or negotiate resolutions using advanced litigation skills.
• Conduct legal research; draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents.
• Attend hearings, trials, depositions, court events, and other required appointments.
• Develop case strategies with insured clients, Claims partners, expert witnesses, and consultants.
• Mentor attorneys and legal support staff, provide training and legal updates, and support office projects and business needs.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a practicing attorney, including insurance defense litigation.
• Juris Doctorate or equivalent international legal degree from an accredited law school.
• Active license in good standing to practice law in the state or states where representation is required.
• Proven experience handling jury trials, hearings, dispositive motions, depositions, and other court proceedings.
• Advanced oral and written advocacy, legal research, negotiation, case analysis, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to travel to court proceedings and other appointments; a valid driver’s license may be required depending on location.
