Assistant General Counsel (Finance)

Location: Los Angeles, California. Remote candidates may be considered only if they reside in a state where hirify.global or one of its subsidiaries has an established physical presence.

Salary: $121,700–$195,300 annually.

What you will do

• Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, credit facilities, loan agreements, and customer financing arrangements.
• Lead legal structuring and negotiations for major accounts, including negotiated loan documents for borrowers seeking $500,000–$3,000,000.
• Analyze legal, financial, and operational risks and provide mitigation strategies to business units and executive leadership.
• Ensure lending documentation and business activities comply with federal and state financial regulations.
• Develop standardized contract templates and negotiation playbooks for high-volume and high-value accounts.
• Advise Sales, Underwriting, HR, Major Accounts, Equipment Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders on contracts, compliance, litigation, and legal projects.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree with excellent academic and professional credentials.
• Good standing with the New York, Virginia, or California bar, or eligibility for registered in-house counsel admission or admission by waiver to New York or Virginia.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial services, corporate law, regulatory matters, insolvency, or related litigation.
• Deep understanding of secured and unsecured lending, UCC filings, debt recovery, and litigation.
• Exceptional legal drafting, negotiation, communication, presentation, and training skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and provide solution-oriented advice in evolving or unclear regulatory environments.
