Area Manager, Fleet Safety (Transportation)

Location: Ottawa, Kansas, United States; onsite at 3300 Highway K 68

Salary: $65,500–$98,000 annually, plus performance bonuses and potential regional pay, stock, and other compensation.

What you will do

• Support transportation offices with fleet safety operations.
• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and applicable safety standards.
• Train and coach drivers to improve performance and safety.
• Develop and implement safety protocols and procedures.
• Analyze data to identify root causes of safety issues and apply corrective solutions.
• Create safety dashboards and use technology solutions to improve safety processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety management, environmental science, traffic safety, transit safety, or a related field plus 2 years of safety experience in supply chain, retail, or a related area; or 4 years of traffic safety experience in a related environment.
• 2 years of experience with continuous improvement methodologies, such as Total Productive Maintenance, in supply chain or transportation maintenance environments.
• In-depth knowledge of DOT regulations.
• Experience training and coaching drivers, with strong data, digital, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage and implement technology solutions that improve safety processes.

Nice to have

• Safety certifications such as Associate Safety Professional, Certified Safety Professional, Certified Industrial Hygienist, or related credentials.
• Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and OneDrive experience.
• Knowledge of environmental policies and procedures.
