Location: Penang, Malaysia; remote work is available.

What you will do
- Own complex cost and inventory accounting activities with minimal supervision.
- Perform advanced variance analysis, investigate root causes, and assess business impact.
- Provide cost accounting expertise and support compliance with US GAAP, SOX, internal controls, and audits.
- Partner with global finance, IT, and business stakeholders to translate process requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Design and lead improvements across accounting, reporting, reconciliation, and automation workflows.
- Develop or support Power BI dashboards, Power Automate workflows, advanced Excel models, MS Access tools, and other finance automation solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, information systems, statistics, or a related field.
- At least 8 years of relevant experience in cost accounting, finance operations, or financial analysis.
- Experience with complex inventory and cost accounting topics, standard costing, and variance analysis.
- Strong hands-on ERP experience, preferably SAP, across inventory, costing, finance, and reporting modules.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft 365 tools, including Excel, Power Query, Power Pivot, SharePoint, Teams, and applicable Copilot-enabled workflows.
- Written and verbal English communication skills are required.
Nice to have
- Experience in a multinational corporation, shared service or global business services environment, or public accounting with cost or manufacturing exposure.
- Experience with Power BI, Power Automate, MS Access, VBA, SQL, or Python.
- Experience working with large datasets, data validation, trend analysis, and business insights.
