Manager Generator Services

Location: Bohemia, New York, United States; office environment with field work and occasional travel.

Target base compensation: $110,400–$150,700 per year, plus eligibility for short-term and long-term incentive compensation.

What you will do

• Manage Field Supervisors and technicians through coaching, mentoring, certification oversight, and performance management.
• Coordinate technician schedules, resources, parts, vendors, and service workflows to meet customer demands and complete work on time and within budget.
• Provide technical leadership for generator commissioning, troubleshooting, repairs, warranty issues, and major projects.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring technical problems.
• Monitor revenue, invoicing, KPIs, gross profit goals, timecards, PTO, fleet matters, and department operations.
• Coordinate with sales, fabrication, parts, Environmental Health & Safety, contractors, engineers, and customers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in management or business, or equivalent experience.
• Valid driver’s license.
• 3–5 years of operations oversight experience in a commercial service or related operation.
• Strong technical knowledge of diesel, natural gas, and propane generator systems.
• Basic electrical theory and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Leadership, team management, organization, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and Microsoft Office skills.

Nice to have

• 7+ years of operations oversight experience and 5+ years managing field service personnel.
• 5–7 years in generator service, electrical contracting, or industrial power systems.
• Experience in a union shop.
• Knowledge of NFPA codes, NEC, EPA regulations, complex generator controls, paralleling systems, ATS control logic, remote monitoring, and IoT platforms.
• Experience with service process improvement, KPIs, budgeting, profit and loss, resource planning, conflict resolution, FieldServio, and customer retention.
