Engineer III/Senior Engineer (P&C Design)

Location: Hybrid in Lake Mary, Florida; employees must live within a reasonable daily commute to a hirify.global facility. Work includes 5–15% system travel and occasional call-out or emergency work.

hirify.global operates an engineering organization supporting electric power infrastructure and high-voltage substations.

What you will do

• Design protection and control relaying applications for new and existing substations.
• Develop project scopes, control enclosure layouts, elementary, schematic, and wiring diagrams.
• Prepare engineering release packages with drawings and bills of material.
• Calculate and analyze protective relay settings using evolving IEEE, NERC, and related standards.
• Coordinate multiple projects, schedules, interfaces, and construction support activities.
• Collaborate with project teams and provide technical guidance on complex engineering issues.

Requirements

• Ability to work lawfully in the United States without employment-based immigration sponsorship now or in the future.
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program, or a Master's degree in Engineering accepted in lieu of the bachelor's degree.
• At least 6 years of engineering experience, or 5 years with state registration as a Professional Engineer.
• Experience applying engineering theories, principles, calculations, and design practices.
• Ability to manage project schedules, prepare technical documentation, and communicate effectively.
• Ability to work in a hybrid setting, travel 5–15%, and respond to system emergencies or scheduled call-outs.

Nice to have

• Electrical Engineering degree from an ABET-accredited program.
• Professional Engineer license or certification and a passing grade on the Engineering Fundamentals Exam.
• Utility industry experience and department-specific engineering experience.
• Increasing proficiency in project management and evaluating engineering design alternatives.
