What you will do

  • Lead the development, publication, governance, and refinement of enterprise System Standards for generation, transmission, distribution, gas, DERs, storage, load, and controls.
  • Define system intent, capability and performance targets, resilience criteria, and a build-it-once design basis across planning cycles.
  • Operate the multidisciplinary Planning Council, including its charter, cadence, agendas, decision materials, minutes, and action tracking.
  • Manage the end-to-end System Standards work cycle from signal intake and governance approval through ISP integration, KPI tracking, and scheduled refreshes.
  • Build and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, analysts, economists, and consultants while establishing stakeholder RACI and developing subordinate leadership.
  • Partner with integrated planning, model innovation, operations, regulatory, finance, and operating companies to align standards with business and regional requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, economics, or a related discipline; an advanced degree is preferred.
  • At least 10 years of utility industry experience, including 5 or more years of leadership experience in strategy, standards, or integrated planning.
  • Expertise across at least two of generation, transmission, distribution, and gas.
  • Experience with scenario-based planning, futures methodologies, and cross-commodity portfolio evaluation.
  • Experience designing and operating cross-functional governance forums with defined charters, decision rights, cadences, and action management.
  • Strong financial, regulatory, organizational, leadership, written, verbal communication, and executive-influence skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience developing enterprise or system-level standards, planning criteria, or design-basis frameworks.
  • Familiarity with peer utility approaches to housing, refreshing, and enforcing enterprise standards.
  • Continuous improvement experience involving PD Tree, KPIs, and management-of-change processes.
  • Previous operations experience with linear or fixed assets.
