TL;DR
Regulatory Affairs Specialist II (Import Compliance): Reviewing and validating customs entry data, investigating import discrepancies, and improving DTNA's import compliance controls with an accent on data quality, customs documentation, and cross-functional coordination. Focus on analyzing exception trends, developing reports and dashboards, and implementing automated monitoring and quality controls.

Location: Portland, Oregon, United States. Hybrid schedule: 4 days per week in-office and 1 day remote. Applicants must be legally authorized to work permanently in the United States. Relocation assistance is not available.

Starting salary: $78,000–$100,000 USD annually, depending on knowledge, skills, and experience.

What you will do

  • Manage the Trade Compliance import mailbox and support customs brokers, carriers, suppliers, and internal business partners.
  • Review import transaction data and documentation to validate customs entry accuracy and completeness.
  • Analyze exception reports, trends, and quality indicators to identify compliance concerns.
  • Investigate discrepancies, coordinate corrective actions, and verify issue resolution before filing deadlines.
  • Provide guidance on import requirements, entry data, documentation, classification, and customs-related questions.
  • Develop reports, metrics, dashboards, automated monitoring tools, business rules, and quality controls to improve the import compliance program.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, finance, logistics, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • Experience reviewing, analyzing, or validating data to identify trends, discrepancies, or improvement opportunities.
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, problem-solving, written communication, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and other business applications to organize and analyze information.
  • Permanent legal authorization to work in the United States; visa sponsorship and existing visa holders are not accepted.

Nice to have

  • Experience in customs compliance, customs brokerage, import operations, logistics, supply chain, or global trade compliance.
  • Knowledge of customs entry processes, HTS classification, valuation, country of origin, USMCA, Section 232, Section 301, Chapter 99, or trade agreements.
  • Experience with Palantir, ACE, SAP, customs broker systems, business intelligence tools, advanced Excel, reporting, or dashboard development.
  • Experience with process improvement, root-cause analysis, audits, quality assurance, data validation, or cross-functional compliance initiatives.
