Safety, Health & Environment Specialist (Occupational Hygiene)

What you will do

• Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of site Safety, Health & Environment programmes, with a focus on occupational health risk management.
• Assess employee exposure to chemical, physical, ergonomic, and biological hazards in the workplace.
• Measure and interpret exposure to chemical agents, noise, vibration, thermal environments, and non-ionising radiation.
• Plan occupational hygiene surveys, develop sampling strategies, and apply qualitative and quantitative assessment methods.
• Identify practicable control measures, evaluate risks, and document and communicate findings to stakeholders.
• Support engineering control design, commissioning, verification, compliance activities, and continuous improvement projects.

Requirements

• BOHS Certificate of Competence in Occupational Hygiene or equivalent.
• Demonstrable relevant professional experience, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to identify potential Health & Safety risks and evaluate workplace exposures.
• Thorough understanding of local and regional workplace Health & Safety legislation.
• Employment is based at the Cramlington, Northumberland manufacturing site; no relocation is offered.
