Shift Engineer (Generators)

Location: Huntingdon, United Kingdom; shift-based, on-site and field engineering work.

What you will do

• Conduct planned and reactive maintenance on a range of generators.
• Diagnose faults and complete breakdown repairs.
• Work a shift pattern of five days in seven, mainly during the middle of the week.
• Assist field engineers when required, using a company vehicle from the depot.
• Coordinate scheduling and planning with Coordinators.
• Complete risk assessments, follow health, safety, environmental, and quality standards, collect parts, and maintain accurate records in the company management system.

Requirements

• Time-served Mechanical/Electrical Engineer or NVQ Level 2 qualification or above.
• Experience working with generators from 20–1500kVA.
• Ability to perform risk assessments and previous mechanical engineering experience.
• Full UK driving licence with a maximum of six points; willingness to complete towing training if required.
• Confident communication with customers from different sectors, both in person and by phone.
