Operations Instructor/Sr. Operations Instructor (Nuclear Operations)

Location: Monticello, Minnesota, United States; on-site nuclear plant work, including refueling outages and emergency response duties.

Salary: $84,900–$138,600 per year, depending on level and experience.

What you will do

• Analyze and design accredited training programs for non-licensed operators, licensed operators, Shift Managers, and Shift Technical Advisors.
• Develop and deliver classroom and simulator training and administer examinations.
• Evaluate trainee performance on the job and in simulators where applicable.
• Maintain training programs, manage corrective action processes, and support Operations activities.
• Pursue and maintain qualifications such as General Instructor, Simulator Booth Operator, SRO Certification, and Simulator Floor Instructor.
• Support plant outages and participate in the site Emergency Response Organization.

Requirements

• Expertise or familiarity with power plant operations; experience in electrical or mechanical maintenance, health physics, or chemistry is beneficial.
• Clear oral and written communication skills and the ability to present training to groups with varied experience levels.
• Organizational, administrative, independent-work, teamwork, and intermediate-to-advanced Microsoft Office skills.
• Ability to satisfy company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission security requirements and obtain unescorted access to the nuclear power plant.
• For the Senior level: diploma or GED plus an associate degree or equivalent experience, an RO or SRO license or certification, and at least 5 years of plant-operation experience including 3 years of training experience.
• For the Senior level: NANT instructor qualification or ability to obtain it within one year, plus familiarity with SAT principles, regulatory requirements, and operator-training accreditation.

• RO or SRO license or SRO Certification for the Instructor level.
• Bachelor's degree.
