Civil Engineer II

Location: Chicago, United States; employment requires verification of eligibility to work in the U.S.

Salary: $97,200–$121,500 annually, with potential additional compensation through commission and/or incentive programs.

hirify.global develops and delivers construction and site development projects in collaboration with architects, consultants, development teams, and construction professionals.

What you will do

• Develop site documentation for coordination and construction with civil engineers, architects, development teams, construction teams, and consultants.
• Prepare site layouts, grading plans, stormwater management plans, erosion control plans, and utility plans.
• Perform CAD drafting, engineering calculations, site constraint analysis, and background site data collection.
• Review zoning codes and research requirements from cities and other agencies.
• Participate in site design, consultant, and project team meetings, and help prepare preconstruction schedules and entitlement documentation.
• Independently solve complex problems, lead or support project delivery, and direct and mentor interns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• At least 6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong knowledge of site design, grading, hydrology, and engineering principles.
• Required knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational, written and verbal communication, problem-solving, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Fundamentals of Engineering exam (EIT) completion in the state of employment.
• Knowledge of Navisworks, InfraWorks, and HydroCAD or other stormwater modeling software.
• Experience with site development.
