Journeyman Electrician (PV & BESS)

Location: United States — California — Remote. This is a traveling position supporting facilities in San Jose, California, and Seattle, Washington, with extensive travel and on-call or varied schedule requirements.

Salary: $40.38–$58.41 per hour, plus benefits and potential performance incentives, bonuses, commissions, or equity.

What you will do

• Inspect, troubleshoot, repair, test, install, remove, and maintain solar and battery storage site equipment.
• Work with batteries, solar panels, inverters, transformers, breakers, switchgear, and SCADA equipment.
• Perform switching and lockout/tagout procedures on medium-voltage equipment for vendors.
• Manage subcontractors performing preventive and corrective maintenance on SCADA, medium-voltage transformers, switchgear, and BESS equipment.
• Complete work orders, calibration sheets, timecards, material requests, and other maintenance records.
• Supervise and train apprentice electricians and coworkers in safe tool use and maintenance procedures.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current California Journeyman Electrician license.
• At least three years of industrial electrical or electronic maintenance experience, including repair, inspection, testing, installation, or maintenance.
• Knowledge of electricity and voltage/current relationships in AC and DC circuits.
• Valid driver's license in good standing issued by the state of residence.
• Ability to review confidential US security information. Ability to complete training and testing requirements and perform physically demanding work on ladders and at height.

Nice to have

• Solar PV and battery storage experience.
• Experience or training with Sunny Central UP, Solectria XGI, or Fimer/ABB inverters.
• OSHA training and certification.
