Supervisor, Operations

Location: Carlsbad, New Mexico; the successful candidate must live within 30 minutes of the Carlsbad Service Center. The role includes frequent site visits throughout New Mexico, travel across the state, field operations, and possible 24-hour emergency call-outs.

Salary: $96,000–$120,000 per year, based on skills, experience, and education.

What you will do

• Lead multiple functional groups supporting construction, maintenance, service installations, operations, meter repairs, and related field and warehouse activities.
• Create work assignments and direct, schedule, and control activities during regular hours and emergency call-outs.
• Ensure personnel receive training for all aspects of their roles.
• Set goals and objectives, establish budgets, and manage costs within the area of responsibility.
• Enforce loss-control and safety guidelines by providing appropriate training and resources.
• Provide long-range direction for department goals and objectives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or an additional four years of related experience in lieu of the degree.
• At least three years of direct operations experience in a natural gas utility, maintenance or construction, plumbing, engineering, or a related field.
• In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, four additional years of related experience are required.
• Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Residence within 30 minutes of the Carlsbad Service Center and ability to travel throughout New Mexico are required.
• Ability to work in office and field environments, occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds, and participate in 24-hour call periods when needed.

Nice to have

• One year of supervisory experience or experience in a lead role with direct oversight and control of a team or project.
